Job Description:
- The Client is investing in developing state of art connected cockpit domain controller for its passenger vehicle segment for the Indian and European market. The Connectivity and User Experience team in UK is dedicated to scout for new technologies, engage with start-ups, Tech companies, Tier1s, and the Client design team to develop system & software architecture for the Client’s future cockpit platforms.
Main Activities and Tasks:
- Develop Technical roadmap for our future cockpit domain controllers.
- Develop system and software architecture.
- Engage with SoC partners, Google, Apple, and Amazon for their automotive offerings.
- Develop Proof of concept project
- Engage with Engineering leadership and business teams to explain the new tech via POC.
- Techno Commercial discussion with partners/ startups.
- Engage with Multiple competencies within Electrical and Design for feature development.
- Engage with Tier 1 supplier for detailed technical discussion around architecture and features.
- Engage with the Client’s purchase for techno commercial discussions on the system.
Other Features of Role:
- Know how about Consumer Electronic Trends.
- Android Automotive roadmap and architecture.
- Alexa, Android Auto, Apple car play architecture and deployment experience.
- Linux middleware, Android middleware and application development knowledge.
- C++ / Java coding knowhow.
- Vehicle benchmarking.
- Travel to Pune, India will be required.
Experience Required:
- Proven track record in the effective delivery of technical objectives to quality and time targets.
- Experienced user of one of OS: Linux, QNX, Android.
- Experience of developing electrical BOM.
- Experience developing story boards for HMI wireframe development.
- Familiar with electrical debugging on vehicle, e.g., harnessing, continuity checking, isolation checking, etc.
Experience Preferred:
- A minimum of five years automotive or other relevant industry experience.
- Experience with software version control tools, requirements management, software change request (SCR) management.
Knowledge Required:
- Demonstrates depth of knowledge in a relevant technical speciality or an acknowledged industry expert in one or more areas.
- Programming knowledge C/C++.
- In car wireless connectivity stack overview like Wi-Fi & BT.
- In car gaming and connected car feature understanding.
Knowledge Preferred:
- Understanding of Infotainment, Cluster, HUD, DMS, SVS system architecture.
- Understanding of Vehicle Interface Processor Software and system architecture.
- Understanding of Android Auto, Apple Car Play and Alexa SW integration, Certification & validation roadmap.
- Software Architecture of Android Automotive OS, Vehicle HAL layer and Application development environment. Linux/QNX know how, is a plus.
- HMI development and tool chain familiarity (Android, QT, Kanzi).
- Cockpit SoC roadmap know how.
- Overview of display technologies in Automotive.
Qualifications Required:
- Degree qualified or similar qualification minimum, PhD qualification desirable.
Qualifications Preferred:
- Chartered Engineer.
