Lead Exterior Designer

Job title: Lead Exterior Designer

Using your strong proven skills, you will be involved in the creation of new designs, and the development of solutions to design problems, for the exteriors of our future vehicles.

Roles & responsibilities

• Meet strategic objectives set by and agreed with the Chief Designer and Studio Director
• Create innovative designs with precision and passion
• You will act as a deputy to the exterior design manager and can be expected to attend relevant meetings and events to support the development of our future exterior designs
• Regularly interface with Design Project Managers, Studio Engineers, Clay and CAS modellers, Studio Engineers and Team Leaders, as well as teams outside of design, to effectively aid the delivery of our future products

Skills, experience, and attributes:

• Significant experience preferably in a global studio
• Educated to a degree level in Automotive Design
• Have first class creative and conceptualisation skills
• Have a broad knowledge of engineering, production techniques and processes
• The ability to visualize and communicate design in both 2D and 3D
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Be receptive to feedback and solutions focused
• Interest in next gen UI and UX developments
• Generate designs for production and concept vehicles
• Good knowledge of automotive industry, including competitor and market awareness
• A proven ability to work as part of a team
• Experience of physical model delivery
