Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Rowley Drive, Stonebridge Trading Estate, Coventry, West Midlands, CV3 4FG
Contract Type: Permanent or Contract Outside IR35
Futura Design are an automotive prototype manufacturer based in Coventry, West Midlands. We are an SME business circa £12 million turnover founded in 1987, operating from a 15,000 square foot purpose-built design and engineering centre.
As a result of a sustained period of growth, Futura Design are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Electrical Engineer to grow their current team. Our industry is fast-paced and going through a period of rapid change with the emergence of start-up companies and the move towards electrification, we are looking for the right person to join us on that journey.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Responsible for delivering projects to time and budget constraints
- Covering activities that cover full product life cycle from initial concept generation through to engineering and production sign off
- Working with engineering departments to integrate technical solutions prior to manufacturing
- Provide status reports to senior management and customers
- Provide technical expertise in electrical systems integration
- Oversee the preparation of harness drawings and circuit schematics
- Analysis of electrical and electronic architecture requirements
- Produce system and component level requirement specification documents
- Engage in system specific design reviews, problem resolution and root cause analysis
- Working with modelling team during installation
- Support vehicle trials and exhibitions where required
- Realising solutions to customer information and animations
- Programming of lighting animations and show sequences
- Keeping up to date with technology that could be used for future projects / prototypes
THE PERSON
- Extensive experience with automotive electronics is preferred
- Relevant further education, either apprenticeship or degree.
- Good knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting
- Problem solver and ability to work to strict deadlines
- Ability to create and then present to key stakeholders inside the business
- Highly energetic and have a passion for teamwork and delivery
