Our Global OEM Client is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Design, Trends and Strategy Designer within Colour and Materials to join their growing team based in the Midlands, UK. Our Client is committed to design and develop dynamic and authentic products which have global appeal. Here in the UK they are recruiting for their centre of excellence, with a focus on fulfilling an ambitious growth plan in new sectors.

They are looking for an experienced CMF Designer to join their highly exciting design HQ, must be a creative thinker with an interest in trend forecasting / strategy. The ability to think in the future & create new & exciting finishes, balancing the difficult task of thinking outside the box whilst understanding the working philosophy & brand vision

This role is within a small, fast paced, & very exciting design studio so a multi-faceted approach to design & being a team player is essential, with the ability to work individually where required. A great opportunity for future growth, it is key for us to fit the right personality into the team.

Accountabilities

  • Inspire, encourage, & innovative CMF Design / Strategic thinking, continuing the evolution of our design philosophy, helping to set our own design / brand direction
  • Develop new CMF design stories / concepts based from trend forecasting, market research, social trends etc, challenging the normal
  • Research products with materials with relevant technology, longevity & the right aesthetic, understand the consumer & help create an experience
  • Work collaboratively with the wider design teams (UK & Oversees), to elevate CMF Design function & maintain our consistent high quality design deliverables. We work as one design team so collaboration & understanding within all disciplines essential
  • Create design presentations communicating clearly our design proposals
  • Delivering presentations to showcase proposals, & support decision making to senior management where required
  • Compile CMF documents such as design intents, colour call outs
  • Establish supplier networks & manage relationships for the CMF function internally and within our supply chains, existing and potential.
  • CMF Strategy & alignment with an understanding of commercial strategies

Skills

  • Proven professional CMF / Trend / Strategy experience
  • Highly motivated & collaborative
  • Self-motivated, able to take initiative with the ability to work autonomously as well as in a team
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills both verbally & visually
  • Ideal to have some understanding of production / engineering processes – how these influence design / fabrication
  • Possess an understanding of supplier relationships & supply chain, working with oversees engineering teams
