Our automotive OEM Client based in Gothenburg, Sweden is looking for a Product Design Quality Specialist to join their growing team. The candidate must have immediate eligibility to work within the EU in order to apply.
Job Description:
Working with Design Quality, you are an active link between Product Design, Engineering and Manufacturing departments. You will work cross projects from initial benchmarks and target setting through to industrialization.
You will be responsible for Design Quality assessment and reviews on complete car level as well as on part level and have overall responsibility for reviewing and highlight visual surface quality problems within the digital and physical models. You will be creating documentation of surface quality problems and lift this to the projects, as well as highlighting quality demands in each stage of project and call for quality reviews.
You will provide support to the Design department regarding technical constraints and opportunities as well as input regarding Design execution best practices within your area. As Design Quality Specialist you will be part of a team of 8 to 10. The role also means that you are representing the Design department in a cross-functional team, being the window person to our China Operations.
We are looking for a person with a strong interest in and sense for Automotive Design and appearance quality. surface quality. You will work mostly interior.

Main focus in your role:
• A strong understanding of shape and surface quality as well as of Design execution best practice and how to achieve it.
• A strong ability to assess Design Quality through physical models and Digital models (Alias, ICEM, Catia, VRED).
• A good ability for appreciating and help developing relevant processes
• A good ability of assessing and reviewing Design Quality on production and pre-production parts
• A solid understanding of customer needs and overall vehicle target setting
• Extensive knowledge of component manufacturing, tooling requirements and lead times. Qualifications and key attributes:
• Minimum of 10 years’ automotive background with relevant experience (digital modelling or design quality recommended)
• Being strongly driven and able to manage conflicts
• Fluent in English, spoken and written
• Travel will be required, 1 to 3 overseas journeys / year.
