Our automotive OEM client based in Dunton are looking for an experience Design Studio Engineer for their upcoming projects. The role is based Inside IR35 and therefore a PAYE solution will be offered.
Position Description:
Design Studio Engineer
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead delivery of Studio Design Feasibility and Integration for all Pre-MR activities consistent with program objectives. Report out to senior management on status of Exterior / Interior Design Feasibility on regular (weekly) basis.
- Establish and Manage Exterior / Interior Design Feasibility and Integration processes and drive resolution.
- Manage interface and interactions between all Engineering departments and Design Studio under consideration of attribute targets.
- Manage and work closely with all affected Engineering departments, Attribute teams on X-functional basis to enable interface trade off discussions and agreements.
- Specify and ensure implementation of Feasibility checklist work stream in line with GPDS.
- Coordinate and facilitate Exterior / Interior Design Feasibility meetings and discussions to ensure common understanding and as key enabler for program trade off discussions.
- Coordinate surface related master section process.
- Provide technical feasibility support for design and surface development.
- Implement and drive robust sign-off process for appearance related surfaces.
- Lead and manage Exterior / Interior Design Feasibility and Integration team throughout the various program development process including assessment of new technologies, engineering delivery and evaluation.
- Execution of calculations and other data checks based on default formulas with CAD program.
- Participation in cross-project development teams.
- This work task usually requires a completed degree and in general work experience for more than 3 years.
Experience Required:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
- Excellent drive for results, business acumen and capability to understand complex technical issues.
- Experience within Body Engineering, minimum three years.
- Experience with Full Service Supplier sourced commodities.
- Familiarity with Body engineering GPDS process.
- Motivated self-starter.
- Excellent inter-personnel skills and collaborative work ethic.
- Good understanding of overall Vehicle requirements, interactions and interfaces.
- Experienced CAD user (TCE, Catia, TC Vis Mockup) as well as MS Office.
Experience Preferred:
- Demonstrated teamwork skills and ability to work independently.
- Interface with Design and Attribute teams, Body Engineering experience
