Our OEM Client based in Lutterworth is searching for a Test Engineer - NVH to join their team. Please feel free to contact us to gain a better understanding of what this means for you.

Position Description:

As Engineer NVH, you will be a part of the PD Test team and report to the Manager NVH. You will be responsible for generating high-quality data that enables the Client to achieve programme goals. To achieve this, you will need to liaise with workshop and test teams to arrange support and facilities required to meet agreed testing and reporting timescales. You may be required to work off-site to support testing at external facilities and you may be requested to spend brief periods working overseas, primarily in India.

Your key responsibilities as Engineer NVH will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Take acoustic and vibration measurements, check the resulting data, carry out appropriate analyses and generate reports based on the findings. To do this, you must:
    • Be conversant with NVH instrumentation types and be able to select the appropriate instrumentation for the task specified.
    • Be capable of fitting instrumentation to the item to be tested.
    • Be able to acquire, process and present data using Siemens Test Lab software and hardware.
  • Conduct pass-by and other tests to ensure that Client products meet statutory and regulatory requirements regarding noise emissions.
  • Carry out correlation testing to validate the results of CAE NVH simulations.
  • Work with peers to get the best team performance.

Experience Required:

  • 3+ years in the UK.
  • Significant powertrain NVH experience will be desirable.
  • Experience of correlating test data with simulation results would be an advantage.
  • Experience with RLDA instrumentation (DC accelerometers, LVDTs, strain gauges, rugged loggers etc.) would be an advantage.
  • CAE correlation for modal response, transfer path analysis and acoustic transmission loss would be an advantage.
  • Awareness of PYTHON programming with some basic level of proficiency would be preferable.

  • Awareness or experience of acquiring and checking Road-Load Data would be an advantage.
