Our OEM Client based in Gaydon, is searching for a Damper Build Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position until 31st March 2026.

Umbrella Pay Rate: £27.03 per hour.

Duties:

General Engineering Technologists & Technicians support engineers in the design, modification, and improvement of products/processes. Activities include but are not limited to, identifying and recommending improvements/preventive actions, inspecting, testing, maintaining, repairing, and installing equipment and systems.

Monitors processes, estimates costs, makes or verifies calculations, analyzes and interprets data. Tests new and modified products, processes, and/or systems.

Level:

  • A Senior Professional (P3) applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.

Responsibilities typically include:

  • Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision.
  • Coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals.
  • Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.

Skills:

  • Damper Build Engineer.
  • Experienced Damper Build Engineer with proven track record of producing bespoke / prototype damper specification builds in a range of different damper technologies.
  • Good IT skills, experience of running rating measurement equipment and processing results.
  • Background in Automotive, either OEM, supplier or motorsport/specialist businesses.
  • Position would be joining a team of Build Engineers working on a double day-shift pattern and so this would be expected.

Education:

  • Strong experience in the field with Automotive OEM prototype, supplier or motorsport/specialist.
  • Physical, hands-on experience is essential.
  • Engineering degree or other formal relevant training/education is desirable.
  • Must be willing to take part in a mechanical trial / skills test hand building a damper.

Technologists apply engineering principles in the implementation of products, systems, and processes. Some countries may require Technologists to have a formal certification or registration and/or a formal Technologist Degree to practice as a Technologist. Professional Technicians have a Technical Degree, and some incumbents have a combination of both education/experiences. Para-Professional Technicians are responsible for maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting, and may not have any certifications/education but experience.
