Design Engineer (CTO)

Our OEM Client based in Dunton, Essex, is searching for a Design Engineer (DTO) to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position until 31st December 2025.

Umbrella Pay Rate: £29.43 per hour, increasing to £38.16 per after 13 weeks.

Key Accountabilities:

• Coordinate and support Feasibility and Design Process.
• Design Feasibility Status, Hard points plan and Executive Summary.
• Coordinate and support benchmark for technical solutions applicable to the attributed project.
• In charge of the CAD design and development of highly complex components as single part and parts assembly with interdependent functionalities.
• Coordinate and support technical communication with Design and all non-Design Departments.
• Check incoming data from internal and external suppliers for compliance.
• Ensure feasibility and appropriate dimensioning of the developed CAD data (e.g., strength, rigidity, cross-sections, centers of gravity, Masses, moments of inertia).
• Support the internal and constant process improvement in terms of CAD data timing and quality delivery.
• Embrace cross-project development teams.
• Coordinate and support the documentation and archives of the created CAD data.
• Develop product presentations relative to the developed CAD data.
• Responsible of storing, releasing and archiving in Team Center according to global processes. (Updating, maintaining and securing the data).

Experience Required:

• Experience in automotive exterior or interior design engineering.

Education Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or a related field.
