Our OEM Client based in Gaydon, is searching for a Vehicle Concepts Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position with a proposed end date of 31st March 2027.
Umbrella Pay Rate: £27.03 per hour.
The Vehicle Concepts Engineer sits in the Whole Vehicle Concepts team within VAVE OffCycle Project. In this role, you will support the creation of early phase CAD schemes that contribute to the Upperbody and / or underbody package layout for future products. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will help ensure that concept layouts meet Engineering, Manufacturing, and Creative requirements during the Concept phase (preCS to KO). You will collaborate closely with teams including Vehicle Architectures and Engineering, Body & Chassis Concepts, Studio, Human Factors, Body Structural Integration, and Advanced Powertrain. This is an excellent opportunity to use your skills to influence the development of future vehicles and architectures, whilst working alongside passionate and talented people.
Essential Skills & Experience Required:
Proficiency in 3D CAD creation and visualisation, with hands on experience in Catia V6 or a comparable 3D modelling package. The role involves extensive CAD work, supporting the development of whole vehicle concept layouts.
Understanding of fundamental vehicle packaging principles, in at least one of the following areas and have experience of working within at least one UN or UP Zone:
- Upper body: occupant positioning, IP/console layout, steering column, pedals, ingress/egress, visibility, trunk usability.
- Underbody: ground lines, attitude planes, clearances, approach/departure angles, axle locations, tyre envelopes, and basic powertrain motion envelopes.
