Location: Coventry & Leamington Spa

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dependable and multi-skilled Commercial Transport Operative to support the maintenance and operation of our fleet vehicles, including cars, vans, HGVs, and specialist lifting equipment. This is a permanent, full-time position based across our Coventry and Leamington Spa sites. We are also interested in hearing from contract workers and would consider this position to be either on a contract, or a PAYE basis.

This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone with strong transport knowledge, HGV driving capabilities, and a proactive approach to vehicle compliance and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Oversight: Coordinate and manage MOTs, servicing, repairs, and maintenance for the company’s full range of vehicles and equipment – including cars, vans, HGVs, scissor lifts, forklifts, and other lifting equipment.
  • Compliance & Safety: Carry out regular vehicle safety checks and ensure all vehicles meet legal and operational compliance standards.
  • Deliveries & Transport: Serve as the company’s registered HGV driver, handling local deliveries, vehicle movements, and transport logistics as required.
  • General Support: Provide hands-on labouring support across workshops and facilities where needed, including vehicle prep, site logistics, and basic upkeep.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of service records, inspections, and compliance documentation.
  • Supplier Liaison: Communicate with garages, parts suppliers, and service providers to schedule work and ensure timely vehicle readiness.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Full UK Driving Licence with C1 HGV entitlement
  • Experience in a similar transport or fleet-based role
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance schedules and safety regulations
  • Strong organisational skills with a can-do, team-oriented attitude
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and varied site work
  • Flexible and reliable, with a practical and problem-solving mindset
  • Willingness to travel between and work across both Coventry and Leamington Spa sites

What do we offer:

  • A full-time position within a respected and growing automotive design and prototyping company
  • A varied and active working environment with responsibility and autonomy
  • Competitive salary or hourly rate, for those as PAYE we offer company benefits including company funded wellness programme, auto-enrollment pension and 25 days plus Bank Holidays paid annual leave
  • Opportunities for training and progression
  • A supportive and collaborative team culture
